Whether you are interested in playing in league matches, or simply getting a good workout on club nights, just turn up to Wood Green School Sports Hall on any Wednesday evening from 8pm, and one of the committee members will be happy to explain how everything works, alternatively, drop us a message below to find out more.
The Leys has a good mix of male and female members, but we are always pleased to see new members. Especially those whom are already at a reasonable standard.
On club nights, we play doubles using a pegboard system. When you arrive, a member will greet you and give you a visitor peg which you’ll place in line on the board. The member whose peg is at the front of the line picks a game for themselves and selects three players from the next six pegs on the board. If your peg is at the front, a member will help you choose players for your game.
To ensure balanced teams, pegs have colored labels indicating ability levels.
We use feather shuttlecocks for all games.
New prospective members are welcome to visit our club up to three times. The first visit is free, the second and third are £6 per session, payable by card on the night. Should you join as a member, these fees will be deducted from the membership fee.
To keep club nights enjoyable for everyone, we ask that prospective members either play at a competitive level or show potential to reach it in the not too distant future. If we feel the club might not be the right fit, we’ll have a private chat with you and can suggest other local clubs that are more suited to those starting out in the sport. If it’s a good fit, we’ll invite you to join as a member.
Membership Fees can be found here
