Leys Badminton Club is a community-centered sports club dedicated to promoting badminton for players of all skill levels. We strive to foster an environment that encourages both friendly competition and sporting growth, while upholding the values of sportsmanship, inclusivity, and respect.
Purpose: Leys Badminton Club exists to provide a welcoming environment for individuals interested in playing badminton, improving their skills, and engaging with fellow badminton enthusiasts.
Membership: Membership is open to all individuals that meet the required standard which is in place to make it enjoyable for all, membership is open regardless of age, gender, or any other protected characteristic. New members are encouraged to actively participate in club activities, contribute to the positive atmosphere, and support the club where required.
Club Structure: The club is managed by a committee of volunteers, including a Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary. Committee members are elected annually by club members. All members have the right to vote and influence the club’s direction at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Meetings: The AGM will be held annually to review the club’s progress, financial status, and elect new committee members. Other meetings may be called as needed to address specific issues or events.
Fees and Dues: Membership fees will be set by the committee at the AGM and must be paid in full to retain membership privileges. These fees cover court hire, shuttlecocks, and other operational costs.

As a member of Leys Badminton Club, it is expected that all individuals:
Respect Others: Treat fellow players, coaches, and committee members with respect, regardless of skill level, background, or personal differences. Bullying, harassment, or discriminatory behavior will not be tolerated.
Play Fair: Adhere to the rules of badminton and the spirit of fair play. Cheating, intentional misrepresentation, or poor sportsmanship are contrary to the values of the club.
Safety First: Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe manner. Avoid reckless or dangerous play, and report any hazards or injuries to a committee member immediately.
Support the Club: Contribute positively to the club by participating in events, volunteering where possible, and helping to maintain a friendly and cooperative atmosphere.
Maintain Clean Facilities: Be mindful of the venue and leave the facilities in the same condition as found. Dispose of waste appropriately and handle equipment with care.
Inclusivity and Encouragement: Support the inclusion of players of all abilities and backgrounds. Encourage new or less experienced players, helping to foster a learning and supportive environment.
By adhering to this constitution and code of conduct, Leys Badminton Club can ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all members while promoting the sport we love.
